Guidelines for donating your clothing and household goods

Goodwill Can Accept:

  • Appliances: small, portable, and working (toasters, irons, microwaves, etc.)
  • Books
  • CDs, DVDs, albums and cassette tapes (commercial video/audio only)
  • Clothing
  • Furniture
  • Household items
  • Jewelry/accessories
  • Linens
  • Purses, bags, and luggage
  • Rugs
  • Shoes
  • Stereo systems
  • Toiletries (unopened only, please)
  • Toys

Goodwill Cannot Accept:

  • Ammunition/Explosives/Firearms
  • Animals
  • Bathroom Fixtures
  • Recalled items
  • Construction supplies (vanities, sinks, drywall, etc.)
  • Hazardous/flammable materials (paint, chemicals, poison, etc.)
  • Propane/Oxygen tanks
  • Gas cans
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Swing sets
  • Tires, Wheels, and automotive parts
  • Wall-to-wall carpet and padding
  • Waterbeds
  • Windows and Doors
  • Non- Flat Screen Televisions
  • Pianos
  • Mattresses

We regret that we cannot accept all donations because of safety, privacy, and other concerns. In addition, Goodwill Gulf Coast and its stores follow regulations set forth by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for the re-sale of goods.

Goodwill Gulf Coast serves 10 counties in Alabama and Florida.
