Through referral programs in Alabama and Florida, high school students with special needs or disabilities – including those in the juvenile justice system – can access programs designed to encourage high school graduation, specialized job training, or the pursuit of careers in high-demand industry jobs.

Alabama
The YES Program provides remedial education and a variety of job training and placement services to young adults (ages 17-24) who are seeking to obtain their GED or high school diploma while working towards short and long-term employment goals. The YES Program is provided through funding from the Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment (SWAPTE). This program is only available through a referral.
Florida
In a job training program in Escambia County, Florida, high school students with special needs can receive classroom training and hands-on work experience at Goodwill retail stores. For youth with disabilities in the juvenile justice system, Goodwill offers the High School High Tech program. This program is only available through a referral.
